LESSON 2 A PHYSICAL PLACE

LESSON TEXT: Psalm 27:1-5

MEMORY VERSE: “For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavillion:

in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me upon a rock.” Psalm 27:5

LESSON AIM:The aim of this lesson is to look at the secret place as a physical place.

Under Bishop Mason’s spiritual and apostolic direction, our Church has grown from ten

congregations in 1907, to the largest African American Pentecostal group in America.

YOUTH AND MISSIONS DEPARTMENTS

YOUNG PEOPLE WILLING WORKERS DEPARTMENT:

The Y.P.W.W.Department is the Youth Department. It was formed in the beginning of the Church,and had

sessions in the National Convocations and District Meetings.

In 1912, Elder M. C. Green of Arkansas was appointed National Y.P.W.W. President. He presided over the National

sessions of Youth services. Later, in 1917, Elder O.T. Jones of Fort Smith, Arkansas was appointed National President.

 

Y   Young People yeild yourselves to God while you’re young. (Ecclesiastes 12:1)

   Prayer secures pardon, peace, purity, and paradise. (Matthew 7:7; Luke 18:7)

W   Willing workers wanted to win souls for God. (Matthew 8:37,38)

W   We must work while it is day. (John 9:4)

 

 

HOME AND FOREIGN MISSIONS DEPARTMENT:

The Home and Foreign Missions Board had its origin in 1925,when the House of Prayer International Home and Froeign Missions Board

(of Portland, Oregon), under presidency of Elder Searcy, became affiliated with the Church Of God In Christ. This connection existed until

June,1926, when the House of Prayer withdrew, transferring the smallbalance which remaineed in its treasury to Bishop Mason, in order

that he might make disposition of it in the cause of Foreign Missions. Upon the recommendation of Mother Lizzie Robinson, Elder C. G.

Brown of Ksnsas City, Missouri, was appointed Executive Secretary and Treasurer by Bishop Charles Mason.
